Laura Ketcham is an illustrator living and working in the DMV, but she grew up in the swamps of South Carolina. As to be expected most of her work is a little morbid, a little eerie, and frequently obsessed with stuff you'd turn over with a shovel. She works mostly with editorial and sequential illustration these days and makes a lot of art for tabletop rpgs.
